Beautiful new colour to our popular Hammershøi collection
For the fall of 2019, Kähler introduces a new colored glaze, Birch, for vases and candle holders in the classic but modern Hammershøi series. The new, understated tint refers to the beautiful delicate color from Nordic birch forests and lets nature's ambience frame the decor trends of the time.
The expression is elegant and Nordic and inscribes itself perfectly in the new neutrals that characterize the season.
The new hue, which creates both calm and warmth combined with Hammershøi vases and the candle holders modern design, creates a perfect mix of the classic and modern and fits into the personal home. The color brings the botanical trend of the time into the home in a whole new way, where the beautiful play in the surfaces of the glaze sends the mind to the changing color pallette of the birch tree trunk.
The glaze on the 'top' of the grooves appears more transparent than between the grooves.
The Hammershøi series from Kähler was created by designer Hans-Christian Bauer, who draws inspiration from the Danish artist Svend Hammershøi's original works, which Hammershøi created at Kähler's workshop back in the early 1900s. With each design comes thorough consideration of both silhouette, functionality and color choices, which in combination with the iconic grooves create the series at once classic and modern expression - a term that in a few years has gained great popularity both at home and abroad .
To give the classic Hammershøi series a different edge, from the launch of the series, Kähler has introduced a varied color range to the classic porcelain. As the colored glazes run across the distinctive grooves, the material stands out and creates a very special depth in the design expression, which is personal, modern and unique.
